The 2010 College Basketball National Championship Brackets came out today and the Murray State Racers are slated as the 13th seeded in the West Region (Salt Lake City). Their first round game will take place Thursday in San Jose at HP Pavilion against 4th seeded Vanderbilt. Game time has yet to be determined but will be available on the all-seeing eye that is cbs.
The winner of the of the Murray, Vandy game will take on the winner of the 12th seeded UTEP vs 5th seeded Butler contest.
All things being equal, I actually think Murray has a great shot and making a special run. They say tourney time is all about match ups and the Racers match up well with Vanderbilt. If they can get past them, its another bracket buster weekend with a (i hate the term) "mid major" vs "mid major" and if Murray State has shown anything this year its that it is clearly one of the best (again with the term....) mid major programs in the country.
We'll see how it all shakes out this Thursday in San Jose. Check back with us Wednesday as OVC Insider will highlight the first round match up!
