I know the fall sports seasons have not started yet, but OVC schools are already releasing their 2010-11 basketball schedules. Teams will hit the practice court for the first time on Friday, Oct. 15 with the season getting underway in early November.
Don't forget this season the OVC Tournament is switching formats, by bringing all 8 men's and all 8 women's teams to one site instead of having first round tournament games on campus sites. The event will also now move to a merit-based format, with the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds getting a bye and the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds getting two byes (into the semifinals).
With the switch the OVC Championship has moved to Municipal Auditorium in Nashville as its new home. This year's tournament runs March 2-5.
The OVC will hold its annual Media Day on Monday, Oct. 25 and there will show off the new court at Municipal as well as unveil a new tournament logo.
